FUTURE ARCHAEOLOGY

《Future Archaeology》は、ガラス制作を「時間を逆にたどる考古学」として捉え、過去を発掘するのではなく、未来の遺物をつくり出す試みである。大量生産されたおもちゃはガラスへと置き換えられ、コールドワークでファセット加工を施した吹きガラスのドームの中に封じ込められる。ガラスの中に留め置かれた見慣れたオブジェは仮想の遺物となり、私たちの文明が何を後に残すのかを問いかける。本シリーズは、私たちが何を保存しようとするのか、何が私たちの後に残るのか、そして日常のアイコンが遺物となるとき、その意味がどのように移り変わるのかを問う。
